Lesson 6 / 7 · ~12 minutes
A real task from A to Z
You've already seen the finished rate calculator in lesson 2. Now you'll see the entire run, unedited — including the two moments Codex refused to continue. Those are the most valuable parts: you'll see lesson 4's guardrails in practice, and why they're a safety net, not an obstacle.
The final challenge: delegate something of your own
Pick a task from your own life — ideally one that genuinely saves you time:
- A calculator for your trade — quotes, material usage, rates…
- A mini website — a business card page for a project or an event.
- Changing something that exists — got an old script or spreadsheet? Let the agent add a feature.
You know the drill; in short:
- New folder, git (the agent sets it up itself) (lesson 1)
- Task brief: WHAT · WHY · HOW · WHEN + output structure (lesson 2)
- Delegate longer work to the cloud, handle small things locally (lesson 3)
- Go through the whole diff — tests aren't enough (lessons 3 and 4)
- Finally: "write the state into AGENTS.md" (lesson 5)
Self-assessment
Once you're done, go through the checklist:

You've completed Vibecoding with ChatGPT Codex
You can write a task brief, delegate to the cloud, read diffs and keep the agent inside the guardrails. From here on it's practice — and practice is measured in delegated tasks.
Fancy a second take on vibecoding? Vibecoding with Claude Code teaches the interactive style — conversation instead of delegation.
